Amy Vangsgard is an award-winning freelance artist from Los Angeles, California. She specializes in Illustration, Art Direction, Fine Art, Licensing Art for home accessories and decor, department stores, corporations, healthcare markets, hospitality, television and motion picture industry. Her art is available in custom sizes and panels upon request. The framed Amy Vangsgard art come in a variety of color choices to serve the varying needs of her clients. In 1985, she graduated from Art Center College of Design with honors. Amy has been a successful award-winning freelance illustrator for more than 30 years, she has also taught color theory, illustration and design at Otis College of Art and Design for many years. She uses both digital painting and digital photography techniques to create new and exciting imagery. She’s now on a creative journey to explore the never-ending possibilities of combining monoprints with various media. She’d like to share the great joy that color brings into her life with those who view her artwork by creating a new way of experiencing color. Her monoprints combine a texture and the spontaneity of loose painting that is unlike any other art. Through her art, Amy hopes to communicate the amazing feelings she has when she views the world of color around us. All of her life she has loved color. The artist is fascinated by the way light shines on plants from behind with glowing colors. She creates monoprints by pouring paint on an acrylic or acrylic glass (plexiglass) after which she places a sheet of paper on top of the painting.
