Julie Ueland loved art from a tender age. She began drawing and painting when she was only 10 years old. Luckily, she had a British impressionist by the name Gloria Jasper who guided her in her endeavor. At age 13 Julie, started a mural painting enterprise that provided her with steady work and pocket money through high school. After attending Pacific Lutheran University she now uses her art to express her feelings, something she says other artists should also do. Framed Julie Ueland art have been widely displayed in diverse locations and are found in many private and public collections. While at the university, she majored in secondary art education and psychology, and launched a small business from her hostel room where she created personalized tee shirts and hand painted cards for fellow students. Julie brings many new and textured mediums to mix with her great sense of color, light, and spacing. She has always been influenced by what she observes. Her work is featured in countless products and publications throughout the world, and has been published as fine art prints, as greeting cards, and as posters. Her Arts was officially incorporated in 1985. She began designing, manufacturing, marketing her art and employed to fifty people. She was designing belts, jewelry, hair accessories and handbags for retailers and major department stores. In 1991, she moved with her family to Columbia River Gorge where she started a new venture related to art. Her designs caught the eye of Enesco’s art director and that’s how her licensing career began. She has since been licensing her designs to manufacturers in the home accessories and gift market.
