Janet Tava Art

Janet Tava (Born in 1956) counts herself very blessed to share her career and life with her fellow artist and husband, Eugene Tava. In 1987, the couple opened TAVA STUDIOS to allow them to pursue diverse projects while perfecting their skills further in decorative and fine arts. For licensing of their mural work and print Janet and Eugene are both affiliated with Galaxy of Graphics. Janet and Eugene are both versatile and they are constantly seeking unique projects. Janet is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts from where she obtained a degree in painting. She later on, after graduation, studied at Parsons School of Design and at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She was later enrolled at the School of Visual Arts to complete her Masters’ Degree. Janet has spent much of her time in United States Corporation in the position of Studio Head Designer. She honed her painting techniques and decorative techniques, using ancient Chinese designs in award-winning and innovative hand-painted textiles, wallpapers and murals. Tava employs a hand-screening process on foil paper and uses acrylic paint as her medium of choice. On a single canvas, she often uses up to 2,000 sheets of tissue paper to create an interesting surface. Her art has been featured in several prominent domestic living and architectural magazines and she feels that her work is a representation for her soul... airy, light, and constantly changing. Framed Janet Tava art has found its way into many prestigious buildings around the world.
