Karen Suderman is a graduate of Southwestern University from where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2001. Upon graduation, she began exhibiting her work in Austin, Texas. In The year that followed, and after the fire that broke out in 2005 at the Guadeloupe Art Center, she founded Artspoken Inc., which comprised of a Gallery and Studios. She used the space as a place for many of the displaced artists and herself. This studio is now referred to as Austin Art Space and she collaborates with the non-profit called Austin Visual Arts Association (AVAA). AVAA arts organization composed of working artists and supporters of the arts. Currently, her artwork belongs to private collections in New York, Texas, Alaska and D.C. She lives in Virgina with her husband and their 3 year old son. She was awarded a studio scholarship at the Guadeloupe Art Center and managed to show art at the center, the Vin Gallery and venues around Austin. Karen loves art and believes that each painting is a resemblance of a natural object or scene, and the stylized presentation of each object or scene produces an image that cab not be defined. Karen is open to try whatever she can to help improve her artwork. Her inspiration lies in her innate relationship with nature. She’s exhibited at Strathmore Mansion, Maryland, Hierachy, Washington D.C., ArtWorks Gallery, Wolftrap Theater Virgina, Washington Harbor, Washington, D.C., Brooklyn, NY, Mayflower Renaissance Hotel, Annie Kaill’s Gallery, Juneau, AK, Austin Art Space, Austin, Tx, and Capital Hill Art League, Washington , D.C., among others. This has made framed Karen Suderman art to be known all over the world.
