Jane Slivka Art

Jane Slivka was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She always knew she would be an artist. She studied art history in Florence, Italy and was also educated at Endicott Junior College in Boston and Ohio University. Jane's work is exciting, large, and colorful. Her work exudes energy and is inspired by the Impressionist Movement. She recently moved to Mount Dora, Florida from Cleveland, Ohio. When she is not painting or showing, Jane may be found teaching beginning to intermediate acrylic and watercolor painting classes in her area. She paints with vivid colors and bold brush strokes and has had much success from exploring the beautiful form and design of nature to create visual excitement. From an early age she often dreamed of the ocean and even wrote poems about the scenes she now paints for all her viewers to enjoy. Her paintings, take viewers through a journey of layered acrylic paints so they can discover a world beyond what a camera can capture. Her art are normally on oversized canvases. Jane had been working with watercolors. When she tried acrylics one day, she instantly fell in love with it. She felt attracted by the versatility that acrylics offered. Since then she’s been teaching, exploring, and encouraging others to painting with acrylics. She’s has been a great influence to many artists. Jane has produced many beautiful and attractive paintings most of which are presented as framed Jane Slivka art. She has received many awards and recognitions and is a member of many professional bodies.
