Shin Terada is a freelance photographer who currently lives and works in Yawata-City, Kyoto Japan. In 2003, he participated in The Photo Contest that was organized by The New Japan Photographic Association. And about 15 years ago, he received awards in 3 divisions of the International Culture College Foundation. Terada wants his eyes to breath in synchrony with the image. The quality of his photographs depends on his skilled eyes. He has an acute sense of the size, width, depth and area which the motif embodies and must pursue its worth. He’s always watching the world through the finder. The objective of his lens is an emotion such as calmness, nostalgia, sweet taste, warm-heartedness, and quiet simplicity. He says an emotion is born in heart and not head. He adds that during our life in this brutal world, people have put a heavy lid on their emotions, so he tries to force this heavy lid open so as to find the human warm-heartedness and tenderness in the mind by the image. In order for him to open the lid, Terada’s motif has to be the beauty – a beauty that makes an impact on the heart. He likes photography because the art kept in the memory of brain cell is usually forgotten someday, but he believes that a photograph is something that’s there forever. The photographer seeks to capture the "poetic verse" of the motif in the instant of its look. His works have been seen in numerous magazines and his honors include many awards. Framed Terada art are very common in many homes.
