Carrie Schmitt has been painting consistently for about 6 years now. She covers a variety of subjects although her main subjects are flowers. Carrie’s flower subjects are often roses, inspired by an attachment she has with the flowers, stemming from her experience back in the days when her grandfather used to bring her grandmother roses every month. She’s attracted to roses, saying that when she smells them, they give her memories of her grandmother. Carrie prefers to make every artwork unique and colorful, giving every subject the color she deems fit for her at any given time regardless of what such a subject looks like in real life. Her painting works have given her happiness, especially from the fact that she draws them from the beautiful works of nature.
Going into art more or less came as a pastime. It was in 2009 when she developed an allergy that made it impossible for her to undergo the heat of the day, forcing her to stay indoors all the time. While in the house, Carrie wanted to do something to make for the time, opting for painting. She also took online classes and experimented on her own to sharpen her artistic skills. Because staying indoors wasn’t easy, painting provided her with the comfort and happiness she needed. In an effort to make life more comfortable for her, her family moved to a wet and cold place near Seattle, allowing her to go outside and have a good time, seeing the beautiful surroundings. The two nature’s beauties that she loves most are flowers and waterfalls, going as far as saying that if there is anything more beautiful than the two then she hasn’t seen it just yet. Many people who like using her art for interior decoration prefer purchasing framed Carrie Schmitt art that’s ready for the wall.
