Marilyn Robertson’s mother was from Malta while her father served in the British Army. She was born at a military hospital in Wiltshire, England. Marilyn spent her early years living in various parts of the United Kingdom and Germany. She started painting and drawing as soon as she could hold a crayon and she has never stopped to date. After college Marilyn worked in the United Kingdom as an art teacher. When her daughter was born, she set out on a ‘long and winding road’ to ensure she established herself as an illustrator, artist and designer. During her career she has been helped by wide-based art education including fashion, textiles and ceramics as well as in Fine Art. She continues to work in these product areas. My influences include Art Deco, The Pre-Raphaelites, Art Nouveau and The Impressionists. Her aim is to create beautiful illustrations and artwork that can be enjoyed and valued by anyone who buys them and loves the creative interplay of form, line and color. Marilyn favors uncluttered, clean images in bold colors, but with a subtlety of expression. She works world-wide across a range of art-related consumer products. Her open edition prints have been seen on web sites in the United States of America, United Kingdom and Germany. And her art can be found in stores in South America, North America, Australia and New Zealand, Europe and Russia. Ready to hang framed Marilyn Robertson art are in many stores around the world. Her art is also available online.
