Maggie Riegler was born in India. She obtained her degree from Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen, where she also became lecturer in woven textiles. She’s exhibited widely in the Europe, UK, The United States and Australasia. Born of Scottish parents, Maggie specialized in woven tapestries. Her work is found in many private and public collections, including those of; The Royal Scottish Museum, Edinburgh, The British Embassy, Cairo, The Scottish Arts Council, The Liverpool Education Authority. As her workload increased, she decided to stop teaching to get time to concentrate on large commissioned pieces, including works for the following; "Royal Princess" Eden Court Theatre, St. Mary's Cathedral, Aberdeen and many others. Maggie and her husband launched their own designing, painting and publishing business in 1986. On top of her own work she has completed commissions for; Diagio Web Ivory Ltd., Avon Cosmetics United Distillers, The Boots Company Plc, The Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, The World Wildlife Fund, and others. Maggie is an amazing artist and her drawings are detailed and are like woven threads in their style and color. Maggie is constantly experimenting more to help improve her work. Small abstract tapestries, Guinea Fowl feathers with handmade papers, and many more creations are all unique additions to her range of originals and stunning prints. She has been residing in Speyside for many years since she left lecturing at Gray's School of Art. Currently, she’s is available for commission work, and framed Maggie Riegler art can be found in many outlets all over the world.
