Stephen Renard (Born 1947) was born in Huddersfield, United Kingdom. He’s known for marine painting. He was clearly a gifted artist and this could clearly be seen from an early age, and was interested in art. However, he chose to go to teachers training college at Liverpool University, where he studied sciences. His passion for art never died, and even though he was working as a professional teacher he used to do portrait work until he became a professional portrait artist and illustrated children's comics to supplement his income. Currently, he is regarded as one of the leading painters of yachting subjects in the world and is he’s widely recognized as one of the most rapidly growing commercial artists in this field. His work began in 1981 when he bought a boat and developed his love of the sailing and sea. This triggered his interest in painting sailing ships and soon he turned to painting sailing ships and his work quickly became very poplar with art dealers and marine art enthusiasts. Renard is very keen to detail; rarely will he miss small bits that are easily overlooked by many painters. His works, especially the framed Stephen Renard art, continue to be in constant demand from collectors and dealers and his meticulously accurate paintings in oils have continued to prove to be sound investments to those who collect them. There have been many articles about Renard, including one written for ArtDaily in 2008. His art has found its way into many prestigious buildings in the U.K. They are highly priced by many discriminating collectors.
