Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino (April 6 or March 28, 1483 – April 6, 1520), famously known only as Raphael, was a respected painter who was part of the Italian High Renaissance classicism. He's known for his religiously inclined paintings. Raphael was born in Urbino, Italy. In 1504, he was apprenticed to Perugino in Florence where he lived for 3 years. It's during the period that Raphael started painting the highly acclaimed "Madonnas". When he later lived in Rome from 1509 to 1511, he did a fresco painting for the Vatican that raised his profile as an artist. He would later be hired by Pope Julius II as his architecture. It's around the same period that Raphael did his last piece of the "Madonnas" series. Raphael was born to a painter dad in a cultural center that was full of life and artistic works. It’s his father who introduced him to painting. Unfortunately, his father died when he was only 11 years old. Following his father’s death Raphael took over the management of his father's workshop and did a great job that soon made strides never reached by his father. He therefore became a respected painter as a teen and started getting commissioned by different entities. Raphael developed a signature painting style that became evident in his circa 1502 painting "Mond Crucifixion" among his other works. After his death, his works still remained famous and his transition toward Mannerism became a big influence in Italy. He still remains a respected artist for his powerful compositions and is regarded as the father of the Italian High Renaissance classicism. Raphael’s artistic works are widely exhibited and are found in homes and offices across the globe. Framed Raphael art and other creative works in different finishing options are available in galleries and art dealerships.
