Mark Pulliam (Born 1959) was born in Cocoa, Florida and now resides in Winter Garden. He always knew he was going to be an artist. He opened his first gallery when he was just 22 years old. He quickly gained acclaim and won a number of awards at art shows while he was exhibiting his works in local galleries in Florida. He earned his BFA from the University of Florida in 1983. Today, his landscape paintings and abstract paintings can be seen all over the world, especially the framed Mark Pulliam art which can also be seen on the walls of local galleries across the country. Pulliam consults with some of the top art representatives, architectural firms and designers in the country. He believes that surrendering to his instincts and letting his talent and imagination work the canvas provide ongoing education to his self-awareness. Pulliam feels that all leading artists must go through this process. Art has given him the freedom to explore his vision and imagination. From his early childhood, a paper and pencil took him to places and taught him structure and rules. With brush always in his hand, he continues to explore and evolve his art. His earlier images depended on realistic, detailed interpretations. However, later in his career, he began to focus on the other elements of painting and became less satisfied with technical depiction. He began moving toward texture, color and patterns. His need to simplify became the dominant point of his expression. He has found this process to be tremendously gratifying.
