Jean Louis Prévost (Born 1760) was born in Nointel, France. He loved art so much and worked on improving his art on daily basis, and he was very keen to detail. That explains why he was open to learning, though he had practiced art for many years. He was a still-life painter and in the course of pursuing his personal dream, his artistic talents were actually encouraged by the feedbacks he used to get from those who viewed and admired his art. His illustrations are of various plant species. He was associated with the botanical painter Spaendonck Gérard and went on to exhibit with both the Academy of Saint-Luc and the Academie Royale. His artwork is in many private and corporate collections, and they are also found in many galleries and home. Today, his art is in the permanent collection of many leading collectors including the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. They are produced in a variety of finishing option including framed Jean Louis Prévost art which usually come ready to hang having all the required accessories. Though he was not interested in creating his art purely for scientific purposes, Prévost’s works were so demonstrative and precise that they have time and again been reproduced as color plates for books of botany, both during his lifetime and after. He’s best known for his representations of flower arrangements in both watercolor and oil. He died in 1810 in circa France. He’s still counted among the leading artists of his time and his art continues to gain popularity.
