Debra Ozello is an artist based in Arizona. After earning her bachelor’s degree from Northern Arizona University, she spent the next fifteen years moving all over the Southwest until 1996 when she returned to Arizona. Debra doesn’t have to travel far for inspiration. She gets her inspiration from simple things like a coffee cup, a bottle of wine or a tube of lipstick – she likes to take something that’s very simple and make something stunning out of it. All these simple things are fodder for her eye-popping artwork. Debra is a member of the National Acrylic Painters’ Association. The artist uses color as a powerful tool in her still life painting which is contemporary in nature. Her work is featured in both private and public collections throughout the United States of America. Over the years, she has traveled a lot and her art is found in almost all corners of the world. The artist prefers acrylic paints to other materials because they dry quickly allowing her to layer and change colors. She counterbalances these vibrant, colorful paintings with charcoal figure drawings on heavily painted and textured canvases. Debra is an artist who’s fascinated by feel and the delusion of depth on a 2D surface. She enjoys using both these elements in his work. She says that skilled craftsmanship has been a great enticement for her in her own artistic taste, ranking high together with content, composition and form.
