Oscar Ortiz Art

Oscar Ortiz (Born in 1964) started painting and selling his pieces back in 2002. He was born in Manhattan, New York, USA. He grew up in Puerto Rico and his childhood memories still influence his art to date. He was often requested by his teachers to get involved in art projects for the school that would even involve creating illustrations to be used as teaching aids. The pure joy of working on such projects and of creating and making others happy through his drawings and paintings was what satisfied him the most. However, his artistic creativity went dormant for almost thirty years before he picked up to start serious work in painting. Just two years after actively painting and with no academic training Ortiz was commissioned his first piece which went on well. After that successful stint, he knew there was no turning back. Today, he has several corporate clients including UNESCO, Arte Público, Puerto Rican Professional Association of South Florida Business Guide, FL, Milwaukee, WI, Esmaco Printers, PR, and Norwood Publishers, USA, among others. Several commissions and exhibitions followed his first commissions, and he sold more than ten pieces in less than six months. Ortiz works on a one on one basis with interior decorators and private collectors. He has carved a niche in the international art market and is today a well-respected artist. He has been praised for his intelligence, maturity and controlled tropical color palette.
