Sarah Ogren believes that art is a means through which artists make sense of their experience in their society that’s increasingly rapidly shifting. Her work is about joy. She chooses to work in mixed media collage, and she loves the flexibility of mixed media and finds art to be more visually interesting and appealing the more visual texture it has from different media. Her work is about remembering the positives in life, and about possibilities. She likes what she does and she considers much of her work more or less as a kind of self-portrait because Sarah draws them so directly from the images of her subconscious. She wants the viewer to feel hopeful, inspired, and to view the world in a more light-hearted manner. Her art, especially the framed Sarah Ogren art, are in many galleries around the world. She has attended numerous art shows and exhibitions where her art has received positive reviews from art critics and viewers. Her images have also won many national awards. Sarah knows the value of positive thinking on the quality of people’s lives. She also knows that people sometimes need reminders to think this way. She gets her inspiration from paying attention to the moment and to the little details that are often ignored by many artists. She also draws inspiration from taking note of ideas that connect with the soul such as color, form, mood, light, conversation, and dreams. Sarah says that when a person’s day is brighter, their pass on that joy to others. She likes to think of art as a sort of "pay back to the society.”
