Artist Abraham Munting (Born 1626) was born in Holland. He was a botanist, a botanical artist and a physician. He studied botany and medicine and became a professor of botany at the University of Groningen. Munting had a passion for his environment, and this was his most valuable qualification. He loved what he was doing, and his works are able to speak for themselves. They attract clients not only from Holland, but also from around the world. He liked to travel a lot and at one time, he lived in France. When he returned to Holland, he joined the faculty at the University of Groningen, and remained there for 24 years as an eminent professor of chemistry and botany. He used different approaches and each of his artwork was done experimentally and his clients were usually amused and amazed by the variety of influences on the final result. Munting didn’t fear to try different styles and techniques when he was working on a particular project. He usually chose the best technique for each work to obtain the best and unique result. At the university, he directed a botanical garden (which was founded by his father) and he made it to be one of the most extensive of the period from 1658 to 1683. It came to be known as the "Paradise of Groningen." He participated in many art exhibitions and, today, his artwork can be found in many private and public collections throughout the world. His art are available in different finishing options including ready to hang framed Abraham Munting art which is the most popular finishing option for his collectors.
