Kestrel Michaud work was printed in the Ringling 100 that was sold as a scholarship fundraiser. This is a coffee-table collection of images that students and alumni of Ringling created. Kestrel is a graduate of the Ringling College of Art and Design (she graduated in the class of 2010). Before she began working full tie in her current work, she worked in the 4-H sewing club in high school with fabric and within the first 8 years of discovering fabric, she developed a technique that’s uniquely her own. In 2008 and 2009, she participated in juried Illustration shows, and in 2010 she participated in the juried Best of Ringling show. This program enabled her to sell many pieces of art through galleries involved in this program, including the Jean Bonnett Tavern and the Bedford Springs Resort. Kestrel makes each image using hundreds of separate pieces of fabric, and incorporates different patterns and textures in dozens. She produces high quality art in the form of ready to hang framed Kestrel Michaud art and in a variety of other finishing options to satisfy all his clients. Kestrel also varies her subject matter to increase the collectability of her art. She has managed to earn a lot of respect among her peers and is currently mentoring many upcoming artists. She decided to move to New York where she hung and sold numerous images through the Lotus Gallery in Woodstock. Currently, her art is on sale in Manchester Center, Vermont at the John Zaccheo Gallery.
