Kate Mawdsley Art

Kate Mawdsley (Born in 1957) was born in Lancashire where she was also brought up. Initially she earned her living in the textile industry as a designer of fashion and as an illustrator, but now she focuses primarily on her largely successful design work. Kate now resides in East Anglia in a converted barn, with her two dogs, and her husband who’s also an artist - a flourishing graphic designer. Even at a young age when she was still in a nursery, she preferred to play with paint, pencils and paper rather than playing with toys like other children. Her teachers noticed her talent and passion for the arts and assisted and encouraged her. She maintained her interest in art throughout her education, and her dream was to become an artist who’s known internationally. Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts Hons Degree in Textiles and Fashion. She also undertook a course on the History of Modern Art at Cambridge University which has inspired many of her more recent posters, prints and art. Her art has received much acclaim and she has become very successful. This success can be attributed to her dedication to her work. Kate is much sought after and always has some work in progress. The framed Kate Mawdsley art are in great demand, and this is what usually keeps her busy. Today, her art adorns the walls of many prestigious buildings in Lancashire and beyond. Kate's prints, posters and art are inspired by Impressionist and pre-Raphaelite artists. She’s very careful when in comes to the choice of her subjects. She has to ensure that they are subjects that her viewers can relate to.
