Keith Mallett Art

Keith Mallett was born in Pennsylvania. He loved art from a young age and knew that he would become a professional artist. Mallett attended the Art Students League and Hunter College in New York City where he received his formal training in art. He was the in-house artist for Frontline Art Publishers and has worked as a freelance artist for fifteen years. His work is currently published by one of the largest fine art publishers in the world, the Canadian Art Prints. Mallett’s art was chosen to grace the cover of Chicken Soup for The African American Soul, the first Chicken Soup collection to deal exclusively with the African American experience. He was also commissioned to design the official limited edition print commemorating the 50th anniversary of Jackie Robinson’s historic breakthrough into major league baseball. Both Lenox and Franklin Mint Collections have created collectibles of his most popular works. A decor Magazine recently covered his work in an artist’s profile, and a feature article on him appeared in U.S. Art Magazine. Mallett first learned oil painting under Sidney Dickenson, a student of William Merritt Chase. Later, he found that working with acrylic paint better suited his nature. He has worked in a variety of mediums. In recent years he has also worked as printmaker and a ceramic artist.
