Kellar Mahaney Art

Award-winning artist Kellar Mahaney is believes in experimentation, energetic brushstrokes, color, and scale. A row of spectacular outer space flowers swaying in the gentle wind gives her great joy. She got her classical training in the abstract expressionist school and has been working as an artist for several years. She also holds a BFA from Wittenberg University and an MFA in Studio Painting from Ohio State University. She’s devoted to her art and has spent a lifetime fixing and developing her artistic style. She’s the founder of the Munce Art Center and for over twenty years worked at Sullivan Munce Cultural Center as the director. Her gestural and stylish technique coupled with her ingenious approach has resulted in works that are truly joyful and exuberant. She’s had a striking career in cultivation of the arts and in museum work. Her vivacious artwork reminds those who view them to stop and savor the providence of color and light. Kellar is very keen to detail. She can take small things and exaggerate them in large sizes that turn what are often times easily looked over or unnoticed into beautiful compositions full of life and color. In 1998, the Indiana Governor named her a Distinguished Hoosier, and in 2007 the Kappa Delta Sorority (National Chapter) named her as one of 50 Over 50 Awe-Inspiring Women.
