Framed Jay Li Wall Art

Jay Li was born in 1962 in Guangdong Province, China. He is a Chinese Canadian who is known for his painterly approach and the love of color that characterize his images. Li graduated from the Fine Art Academy of Guangzhou where he graduated in 1985 after which he taught at the Fine Art Teachers College of Canton and went on to become an assistant professor in the Fine Arts Department until 1989. At the Fine Arts Academy, Li studied the techniques of Chinese traditional water painting. He has a unique technique of rendering his objects. To give his subjects a contemporary edge, he often puts them in the foreground of color filled backgrounds. Li’s works have been exhibited in countries all over the world, including Australia, Canada, China and Greece, and his original works can be found in collections in France, the US, Holland, Greece, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, China and Japan. In total, Li has had 17 exhibitions, both solo and group. He also has some media and publications. Many of his works have been published by the Canadian Art Prints Inc, Canada. From 1989 to 1998, Li traveled and resided in Europe and Australia. During that same period, he worked at Nikos Studios in Melbourne for a year where he further developed his interest in oil painting. While in Greece, he started to develop his own innovative style influenced by his own emotional response. The style was also influenced by his paintings of Greek churches combined with contemporary characteristics. Li now lives in Ottawa, Canada. His works have become widely sought for because of their artistic appeal. This has prompted many galleries to avail Jay Li framed art ready for the wall.
