Born and raised in Southern California, Karen Leibrick (Born in 1964) is a self-taught artist who was born in an artistic family and says everyone in her immediate family possesses the ability to draw, which is unusual. She’s the youngest out of 4 and the only girl among boys - artistic abilities run in her family. However, Karen and her cousin Melissa are the only ones who express their artistic talent on canvas. Her other relatives are pursuing other careers. Karen is related to Edward Hicks, the early American artist who painted the "Peaceable Kingdom." Karen and Edward both share the generational blessings that show in their artwork. On a personal note, when she is not painting, she may be found on the archery course, four wheeling, behind a microphone singing just plain karaoke or the national anthem at a local event, or at the gun range. Today, she’s a staunch advocate for cancer research, and has been a participant in quite a number of charitable events close to her heart as former NFL cheerleader. Karen has expanded her subject matter to include contemporary and figurative abstracts and landscapes. She says that if she ever felt that she’s arrived as an artist, she would sorely be mistaken. She never stops stretching beyond the limits of her ability either when it comes to the new techniques and styles or the colors she uses. Framed Karen Leibrick art has become very common in many art shops. She always tries to never stop growing and never stop learning.
