Mark Lague (Born 1964) holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Design from Concordia University, in Montreal Quebec. He also studied Oil and Watercolor Painting at the Visual Arts Center in Montreal Quebec. Earlier on, he had studied Fine Arts at John Abbott College, also in Montreal Quebec, and he has attended several Workshops on painting and life drawing. He currently works on the West Island of Montreal where he lives with his wife, Morris Lori, and his 2 children, Stefani and Ethan. His art is displayed in Ottawa, Ontario at Koyman Galleries. Lague has been described as a painter of Light. In 2000, the artist switched to oil as his primary and proffered medium, and two years later, he made the jump to full time painter. He has earned an international acclaim and has won many awards, both in the United States and in his native Canada. He began receiving international recognition for his watercolor paintings through solo exhibitions, juried shows, and competitions. He has held exhibitions in Smith Klein Gallery, Lesley Levy Fine Art Gallery, Waterhouse Gallery, Brazier Fine Art, Galerie Art & Culture, McCord Museum, Marchant Gallery, Galerie de la Ville, Hilligoss Gallery, Howard/Mandville Gallery, Greenhouse Gallery, Salmagundi Club, and Salmagundi Club, just to name a few. Lague is a dedicated painter who was born in Quebec (Lachine) and he has had an allure to art, especially drawing, since his childhood. He’s a realist and is open to virtually all subject matter.
