Peter Kuttner is a contemporary artist who was born near Boston, MA. He studied at the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He began his career as an art director and a writer for a motion picture company, and later worked with the National Museum of American Illustration as the head of the graphics department. He now finds personal expression in his artwork through his love of texture and his use of provocative color. He uses a combination of paint and collage keeping his work clean, and striving to use a style that matches each piece with a controlled organic quality. This style carries an effortless sophistication, marrying a mastery of intricacy with minimalism into his abstract and representational compositions of mixed media. Framed Peter Kuttner art are available in a variety of sizes. The artist now enjoys personal freedom of expression by using provocative color through which he expresses his love of texture. Each of his canvases is approached with a keen technical perspicacity while he still embraces the naturalness that develops his great works of art. Kuttner’s painted planes are exploited to the fullest breadth of their dimensional abilities. He draws his delicate palette of warm gold and reds, and cool greens and blues from his early years that he spent on the New England beaches. Once completed, every piece is hand-finished to deliver that very particular level of complexity he is known for. In his art layers of colors, textures, and finishes are combined to create a uniquely 3D vision on a 2D plane.
