Deborah Kopka lives with her husband in Perrysburg, Ohio, where she paints the beautiful flowers of the farmland and gardens that surround her studio and home. They have 2 daughters, Erin and Sean. Her botanical art is licensed internationally. In 2012, an exhibition of her work was featured by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. She has been a botanical artist since 1993. She also teaches Mixed Media and Watercolor in community college and university adult education programs. She became a botanical illustration instructor in the School of Art and Design at Toledo Museum of Art, and also teaches in botanical gardens, such as the Nichols Arboretum and the Matthaei Botanical Gardens at the University of Michigan and the Botanical Gardens and Phipps Conservatory. Deborah has co-authored or authored 12 non-fiction children’s books. Deborah holds a Botanical Art Diploma (with Distinction), from London Art College in the UK. She also studied botanical illustration while she was in England, and studied Design in Los Angeles and editorial illustration at Otis College of Art. Currently, framed Deborah Kopka art adorns the walls of many prestigious buildings around the world. She worked with The McGraw-Hill Companies for several years, and also worked as a publishing professional for 35 years. Today, she works with international and domestic educational publishers to produce books, especially for children. Her artwork stands out among the works of other artists because she has a unique method of producing them. Several pieces of her art have been sold either through online stores or through physical stores.
