John Kime Art

John Kime (Born in 1967) is an artist who is based in Phoenix, Arizona. He has lived in the southwest since his childhood. Kime is strongly attaché to the landscape and history of the area, and this is quite evident in his posters, prints and art. However, at the start of his career, he worked with Phoenix Art Press in its framing and marketing divisions. At his place of work, he was constantly in contact with many artists who gave him the impetus to embark upon his own career in the arts. Kime developed his own visual language with the support of other artists, and he has experienced great success with his art. Kime prefers to work in mixed media and is able to incorporate various elements that give his art, posters and prints complex compositions and a unique texture. In his paintings, he wants to break the barrier between sculpture and painting. He has always found himself drawn to three-dimensional art and sculpture. He forms a vision of the third dimension through the use of color and texture. He finds himself coming up with ideas which can only be realized through the building up of several layers of paint and texture; finally, he imposes structure on the canvas to create a surface which is both two-dimensional and sculptural. Framed John Kime art are found in many collections all over the world. He currently shows his prints, posters and art, throughout the US through the Planet Art Group, of which he is a co-founder.
