Ella K (Born 1891 died 1975) was a Native Texan. She loved at from a tender age and could spend most of her free time drawing, painting and doodling. She knew that her life would depend on art and all her effort was geared towards art. She received the support of many people who were impressed with her work. Ella also liked to be in the company of artist from whom she learned many styles and techniques. She began her studies under Kathryn Cherry and Frank Phoenix in St. Louis and was awarded a scholarship in still life. Due to her hard work and the quality of her work, she received a scholarship to study in New York. She went to New York and studied at the Art Students League under George Bridgman, and then at the Broadmoor Art Academy with Robert Reid and Randall Davey. In the 1920s Ella taught art in San Angelo, Texas along with Mollie Crowther. The school was organized in 1922 and was known as the Christoval Art Camp. Her art continues to cause a lot of excitement among artists as well as non-artists. She was an active exhibitor, and won many honorable mentions and awards including the prize in late 1920s Davis Exhibits in San Antonio and honorable mention for still life at the Dallas Women's Forum Exhibit.
