Australia-born artist Ginny Joyner began her career as an artist at a very young age. She began by decorating her parent’s walls and furniture with her crayon drawings. Later her parents told her that paper was a more acceptable surface on which to create pictures and since then she’s been pleased to find that people enjoy her work. Ginny lived in Japan and many states along the Eastern Seaboard, from Massachusetts to Florida, settling in Vermont in 1989. She is a member of the Vermont Watercolor Society and teaches watercolor classes to beginners and advanced students through programs in Hinesburg and Colchester as well as in Fort Ethan Allen in her home studio. Ginny paints in a non-judgmental, beautiful and relaxed atmosphere in her home/studio. Ginny has been a freelancer in Vermont for close to 30 years working in scratchboard, pen and ink, oil and watercolor. Her clients include Houghton Mifflin Publishers, Harper Collins Publishers, Sleeping Bear Press, The Baltimore Sun, Gardener's Supply, VCIA and W. S. Badger Co., Vermont Teddy Bear Co., Rewster Wallcoverings, among many others. She’s always been drawn to intricately patterned objects, manmade and natural, from Oriental and European pastries, porcelain, apple core, and pastries to vibrant flowers, complicated seashells, and butterfly wings. Ginny helps people to develop their own style and she provides them with gentle encouragement and advice. Ready to hang framed Ginny Joyner are much sought after by many discerning collector who place a high price tag on them. Ginny has also published a book titled M is for Maple Syrup, which has become very popular in Vermont and is even being used in schools.
