Jim Engelbrecht (Born in 1953) was born in Chicago, IL and grew up in Cincinnati, OH. After completing his high school studies, he joined Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. He first took to photography in high school and was able to sell his photos and save some which helped him to graduate to a 35mm SLR Nikkormat from a Kodak Brownie, so he could work on his high school yearbook. Because he loves to travel, every place he has visited has been an adventure and he has loved all of them. One place that really stands out is Croatia and he’s sure Lisa, his wife, will agree. He says that Croatia is such a magical place. Engelbrecht has focused on the major direct mail travel tour providers because they have a high demand for images to support their marketing efforts. Engelbrecht photographs the passenger experience, and also photographs events, hotels, resorts, restaurants, and has brought his event and travel expertise to the wedding market. He believes that in this changing economy, he needs to expand his client list and also has stock photos with Danita Delimont. He has strong passion for photography because he grew up with National Geographic and used to admire the great photographers that worked for the magazine. He was transported to every location they photographed. . In college, he majored in communication design and photo illustration, but took a job as an art director and designer.
