CJ Hughes Art

CJ Hughes was born in an artistic family and he must have inherited his artistic talent from his father. His father was a great artist who enjoyed landscape painting. He’s a commercial artist with a great passion for New York City. His art has been used in numerous advertising campaigns for the likes of Ruby Tuesday, Quaker, Microsoft, Johnston & Murphy, Land O' Lakes, Verizon, and many others. His main medium is chalk, but he says he’s not a Xerox machine or a robot because he works in all kinds of formats and mediums - from chalk to pen and ink, from screen printing to block printing and even to a little photography. He started his custom chalk business almost 10 years ago and was at the forefront of the craze about chalkboard. Currently, he lives in eastern Tennessee in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains with his wife and son. He’s been a professional, freelance designer for more than 12 years. He knows what it takes to deliver art on time and of the quality art directors, buyers, advertising, end clients and agencies expect. Hughes has worked with some small companies and some big companies within and around Tennessee. He likes letters and his favorite layouts and designs are those from the Victorian time period – a period in which almost everything was done freehand.
