Chris Honeysett (Born 1965) loved photography since his childhood. He began making photographs in 1968 when he was only 3 years old. His passion for photography was so strong but he could not get a good camera so he started with a plastic box camera. By then, he never knew making images would eventually turn into a primary passion in life and a career. Come in 2009, he embraced a workflow that’s all-digital, using HP DesignJet printer and the Canon 1DS Mark II camera. He loves capturing images and says while at it, it feels as if life is at a peak at that very moment, and he’s privileged to share in the excitement with his viewers. After making an image, he bows to the subject in gratitude. He began using a 4” by 5” view camera in 1987 before he turned to the digital camera, and he was using black-and-white film exclusively. In fact, all of his prints were made in his modest wet darkroom for more than 20 years. He feels excited to be alive when he’s making an image. Earlier on, he used to make color images of just about everything he could come across, and got his chops on that camera. He remembers very well where his inspiration came from. As a young boy, he saw Adams Ansel exhibiting his art at the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. Chris remembers at one point standing right up against one framed print, and wondering how Adams Ansel had done it. Today, framed Chris Honeysett art are also as attractive as those of Adams Ansel.
