Carolyne Hawley Art

Carolyne Hawley resides on a small ranch near Palm Springs in the high desert where she rides her horse, paints in her studio, and teaches workshops in the area. Carolyne migrated to Southern California with her young family and settled in this area. She was born in the heartland of America and was raised on a rural farm outside Chicago, Illinois. Primarily a self-taught artist, Carolyne is known for animals and portraits. She began establishing her future as a renowned equine artist at a very young age and horses in particular captured her artistic interest. She began with sketches and with time progressed to oils. She attributes a major artistic influence to a founder of the Laguna Arts Pageant, the late Burt Proctor, and to Donald ‘Putt’ Puttman, Emily Touraine, Neil Boyle, Ron McKee, and Martha Sauduk under whom she studied.
