Julie Havel says that art is her spirit and her passion. She’s a self taught artist and she continually experiment daily to push herself to her creative limits. As an abstract painter, Julie creates an array of organic contemporary paintings and he always approaches creating from and experimental angle. She was a crazy creative kid, always building things, experimenting with different materials, finding elements and always gluing materials wherever she could create something out of nothing. She made a decision to become an artist at the age of 7, and that dream persisted until her adulthood. Today, she’s one of the best artists in the world, but she’s still open to learning new things. Her process includes 5 to 6 layers of acrylic paint and an array of textures including various gel mediums and textiles, glass beads, threads, graphite, oil pastels, crushed leaves, home made paper and sand. She was born in Denver, Colorado, and was much influenced by her mother who was also an artist. While her mother was painting at her easel, she would sit at a table and paint alongside her. Julie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arizona, and after her graduation, she spent the next decade in the corporate world of advertising and marketing. Eventually she decided to resign from this job to follow her childhood dream and began to paint. Her art is a mix of perfect balance, rich earth colors and organic textures that come together in harmony. Framed Julie Havel art is a common sight in many leading galleries around the world.
