Born and raised in Bendigo, Australia, Lincoln Harrison is a self-taught photographer whose images focus largely on star trails and Australian seascapes. He has been taking photographs for only a few years but he has developed skills that surpass many photographers. His photographs are full of colors and some purists have criticized him for this but he continues to do things his own way. To him, making his works as good as possible is more important than making the landscapes look “accurate”. Harrison often spends upwards of 15 hours capturing hundreds of exposures of the sky and foreground separately then painstakingly creating each image. Harrison was not planning to take photography as a career. He bought his first camera to take some photos of items for eBay. But one day he went and shot some landscapes that he wanted to use as desktop wallpaper for his PC, the photos were very attractive that Harrison got hooked to photography. Within just a week, he bought about 8 lenses and some gadgets that he needed to take photographs as a professional. He couldn't wait to get started. Photography became his hobby and he has now made it his second career. He now has to balance between his full-time job and photography but hopes to be a full-time photographer in the near future. Harrison now looks for new and innovative ways to improve his work. Already, framed Lincoln Harrison art are found in several institutions and in several of corporate and private collections.
