Gregory Hargreaves was born and raised in Milwaukee Wisconsin where he also received his art training graduating with a degree from the Layton School of Art. He’s had the great good fortune to have worked for and with some of the most discriminating and gifted art designers and directors, producing his own unique brand of conceptual illustrations for national, regional and international clients. Through it all, Hargreaves relaxed by indulging in landscape painting. He also offers giclee prints that are printed on high quality paper and canvas. It has proved to be the most creatively rewarding aspect of his career, with the finest inks available. Living and working in the Midwest, the artist has enjoyed a long and prosperous career in the commercial illustration field. His work has been honored several times by Art Directors’ clubs and the New York Society of Illustrators throughout the Midwest. His work has also been published in magazines as varied as The Wall Street Journal, Outdoor Life and The Economist. Together with his wife Rebecca they reside in Iowa where he gets most if not all of his inspiration, despite his extensive European travel. Hargreave is an abstract landscape painter. Many viewers have been drawn to his work because of the colors he uses as well as the theme. Many are drawn to his landscapes that involve a lot of "space."
