Erin Hanson Art

Erin Hanson was born in Portland, Oregon. He’s American contemporary landscape painter based in Los Angeles. She spent most of her childhood in Los Angeles, California as one of 4 children of Mark Hanson and Nancy Hanson. Her father was a computer programmer and her mother was a teacher. As a child, she developed an affinity for painting and drawing due to the fact that TV viewing was not allowed inside the Hanson home. As a youth, she spent summers rock climbing, camping and hiking. Her parents encouraged her to appreciate the outdoors, play music and read books. She always had a strong passion for art and turned to art full time in 2007. Erin began painting while she was still a young girl. She ravenously learnt watercolor, acrylics, oils, pen and ink, life drawing and pastels from accomplished art instructors. At age 10 she had already began commissioning paintings, and by age 12, she was employed by a mural studio after school, learning the techniques of acrylics on the scale of 40ft canvases. In 1995, she received a high school scholarship that took her to Otis College of Art. Here she focused on figure drawing. After graduating from high school and once again demonstrating that she was a genius child, she next attended UC Berkeley and excelled in her studies and creative development and attained a degree in Bioengineering. After her graduation, she entered the art trade as a professional and today, framed Erin Hanson art can be found in several outlets across the globe. She was inspired by vantage points and landscapes beheld only by the most adventurous. The artist has continued to use the outdoors to inspire her huge collection of work through the years.
