Artist Clif Hadfield was born and grew in Somerset, MA. He is an illustrator, designer, and an art director. He studied in Boston and apprenticed in New York City. In 1970 Hadfield relocated to an 80-acre ranch near Portland, Oregon, where he raised horses and cattle while pursuing a direction in fine-art. As a watercolorist he was best known for the series of iris paintings he created for the Iris Gardens catalogue of the famous Cooley. And as an oil painter, he specialized in landscape subjects and Tuscany, California mission. His clients included Intel, Polaroid, Pan-Am, Georgia-Pacific, and Gillette. Hadfield deals with different subjects. By varying his subject matter, he believes that he will capture the attention of a majority of viewers thereby increasing the collectability and marketability of his art work as they will always remain attractive and fresh.
