Katharine Gracey Art

Katharine Gracey started painting at an early age. She was inspired by her Southern Oregon surroundings, and by Italian and French countrysides. Her artwork is filled with luminous colors that create whimsical, charming and elegant landscapes and vignettes. Katharine earned her art degree from the University of Wisconsin afar which she pursued painting as her main focus and specialized in acrylic, oils and watercolor. She later relocated to the wine region of Napa Valley, California where she started various businesses including design and manufacturing of hand-painted furniture, a retail garden store, and a floral company. Katharine has gone from strength to strength and has produced many designs that can be seen on many gift products, homeware and paper around the world. She has worked on developing her unique style that she paints in today. She starts with an interesting, balanced composition, and each piece of work she does must have an interesting subject and a vibrant but balanced light and color. Her work has evolved over several years but there are always a few core techniques that remain in all her work - they are well balanced. Her home and artwork in Jacksonville has been featured in Romantic Homes, Distinctly Northwest and Victoria Magazine. Her work is inspired by Provence and Tuscan countryside, and also by her native Napa surroundings. Katharine has attended several exhibitions and has also successfully taken part in many of them.
