Pat Fischer began painting at an early age. She was encouraged by an extremely creative and self-sufficient mother. Even though her mother never had money for her art lessons, she ensured that she secured materials for Pat. Her mother helped her realize that God had provided her with a gift to express herself through art. Pat sought to transmit her feelings to others through her work in art. Even while employing other known styles in art making, she was known to bring a unique angle to arts through her creativity. Her contributions in art are reckoned with and she’s widely respected for her works. Her style brings a visually peaceful retreat to a kinder, gentler time and promotes a pleasing image to those who own her prints. Pat’s work reflected her pride and love for her country. Since the early 1990’s, she concentrated on Americana work and acknowledged Rufus Porter as her inspiration for portraying willow trees, saltbox houses, and churches. Porter’s influence began while Pat was doing an independent study of his art while living in New Hampshire. She was self-taught just like Porter, and had her heart touched by the peace and beauty of New England country scenes. Pat’s work has been licensed on a variety of products including: kitchen accessories, rugs, wallpaper borders, garden flags and stencils and many more. Pat was diagnosed in 2007 with Pulmonary Hypertension. She lost her battle with the disease in February, 2010. Because of the high demand for her creative pieces, several galleries stock ready to mount framed Pat Fischer art while others avail them in a variety of other finishing options.
