Laurie Fields is a multifaceted painter with more than 30 years of experience. She creates art using a variety of textures and materials, applying acrylics to create art that’s usable in both homes and commercial places. Laurie’s fascination with art saw her attend the University of Hartford from where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. After completing her education, she embarked on a work life that saw her start out as a textile designer. She would later make it to the Farmington Valley Arts Center, in Connecticut, as a resident artist. Laurie is considered multifaceted because she uses different materials as well as mixed media that rope in monotypes, ceramics, metallic flashing, and photography. Her art covers several different subjects, although she mostly features the beautiful works of nature, including flowers and leaves.
Connecticut Commission on the Arts offered her a grant and she also won several awards as a result of the quality of her artistic works. Laurie later got accepted by Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Virginia, as a resident artist, providing her with a proper location to create art. Her works are in collections, both private and corporate. Examples of some of the entities that have collected his work include Adolpho, IBM, Hyatt Regency, General Foods, and Geico Insurance. Besides the collections, her works have also been featured in a number of magazines, including Interior Design, Home Entertainment, Cosmopolitan and Designer. Some who would like to purchase her art that’s ready for the wall can opt for framed Laurie Fields art.
