Framed Deborah Falls Wall Art

Deborah Falls in an artist based in New England. She began her design work in 1996, and her works now appear in Connecticut, Boston, Vermont and New Hampshire. She has designed and produced fabrics for the interior design trade for close to 3 decades. Her fabric lines can be found in designer showrooms in San Diego, Los Angeles, Palm Beach, Florida and Dallas. Deborah studied at Skidmore College from where she received a B.S. of Fine Arts in Printmaking and Drawing. She has also completed graduate studies in Printmaking at San Diego State University and in Fabric Design at East Carolina University. Her paintings are done using fiber reactive silk dyes on hand woven Indian dupioni. Previously, he worked in many different art forms including drawing, printmaking, mixed media and painting. She also did a stint in textile design. She was drawn to working with dyes and silk because of the wonderful texture of the silk and the vibrant colors of the dyes. While living in Southern California, Deborah produced a line of textiles for interiors. Since she’s self-taught in dyes and silk, she had no idea of traditional silk painting and developed her own way of managing and applying the unmanageable dyes. She did, however, had a sense of the imagery that she wanted, and was able, after much patience and many trials, to adapt a process that achieves her goals. The dyes and silk have offered the perfect canvas. It was not until Deborah started planting her own gardens that her imagery changed to realistic from abstract in the form of botanicals.
