Fran Di Giacomo is a fine art artist represented by art publishers and galleries. Pursuing her career, this award-winning artist was most excited by the Dutch masters and the classical realism. She has been published in magazines, books, and newspapers including The Best of Portrait Painting, Who’s Who in American Art, and Who’s Who of American Women. Fran sought living master to study with, including Howard Terpning, David Leffel, and Paul Leveille. Fran’s still life paintings are in great demand for their dramatic lighting and lush colors. Some of her best pieces include the portraits of former President George W. Bush, for Chief of the Supreme Court Warren Burger, and sport figures Mavericks’ Dirk Nowitzki and Emmitt Smith. Art is her nirvana, her passion, her sanity. When she sits down at the easel, all the questions and pain in her life wash away as her mind is consumed with the painting in front of her. Fran is represented by Gallerie Amsterdam in Carmel, Southwest Gallery in Dallas, and Royal Street Fine Art in Aspen. In 1984, Fran was diagnosed with breast cancer, and in 1998, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Through nearly continuous chemo and numerous surgeries she earned signature status in Oil Painters of America. She painted prestigious portraits and produced numerous exhibits. Fran built a natural reputation but kept her cancer a secret. “It’s my paradox to balance serene, elegant paintings with a devastating disease,” she said. Despite her condition, framed Fran Di Giacomo art are of high quality and are much sought after by many art collectors.
