From a young age, Christine Debrosky knew that she would be involved in art. She was inspired into oil painting by her parents at a young age. Christine also had a chance to lay her hands on a professional water color set while she was still growing up.
She had access to many world class galleries and museums in NY's Hudson Valley for study, and the fact that she lived in the Northeast meant that she had the best opportunity to learn about color.
As a small child at home with limited means, and concerns about toxicity, Christine turned to the outdoors of her studio and focused on watercolor as her primary medium. She did well and within a short time, she could render dazzling effects of sunlight and started to enter juried gallery and national shows.
Christine was introduced to the rich jewel tones of pastel by taking a workshop with Albert Handell. Her works in this medium have pushed her to the limelight and have seen her become the center of attraction in many shows in Italy, Russia, France and the US.
Christine’s career has steadily progressed and today she is showing with such prestigious groups such as the American Impressionist Society, the Oil painters of America, and the Pastel Society of America. Christine has earned signature status with the Pastel Society of the West Coast, the Pastel Society of America, and AWA. She has also been named to Who's Who of American Women, and Who's Who in American Art.
Her work has been featured in several magazine articles such as the Pastel Journal, American Artist, and Pratique des Artes, as well as on a movie and a television set. Those who want ready to mount wall art can also find laminated, canvas, and framed Christine Debrosky art in art dealerships and galleries across the globe.
