Dave Bartruff has maintained a worldwide photo archive of more than a quarter of a million images, with many having model releases. Almost all the images are shot on location overseas. Bartruff likes to keep on top of things. He’s an award-winning international photojournalist based in California. He likes to surround himself with fellow artists from whom he can learn new techniques and styles. For over 30 years, the photographer-cum-writer has been covering the world for religious and travel publications. Bartruff has completed well over two hundred international shoots in more than ninety countries. He likes to climb to the top of Mount Rushmore where he shoots photos for stories on the famed monument. These mountain-top expeditions have resulted in many prestigious awards including one by the Society of American Travel Writers called the Lowell Thomas prizes, and also the Pacific Asia Travel Association award and Nikon Camera award. Most of his pieces of art are presented as framed Dave Bartruff art, though other finishing options are also available. The photographer traveled to Egypt for an assignment where he ascended Mount Sinai and produced a photo essay on enchanted Monastery of St. Catherine requisitioned at the base of the “Mountain of God.” He later went to Tibet, where he visited the 17,000 ft high Rongbuk Monastery, the highest human habitation on earth. From these travels, he created an impressive portfolio of photographs. His works continue to attract many people, art students and art teachers included – more so because of the quality and the choice of subject matter.
