Richard D'amore (Born 1940) got interested in photography while he was living in Mill Valley, California. By then, he was working under the tutelage of photographer and artist Chappell Walter. In 1970, he moved to France to work and study. His career as a photographer spanned more than 3 decades. An authoritative collection of his early posters, prints and art were published in 1971. His work has a strong, worldwide appeal that satisfies both the collector as well as the critical connoisseur who seeks a simple aesthetic pleasure. While in Europe D'amore taught photography at Camberwell College of Art, and upon returning to the United States, he worked for the celebrated designers, Ray and Charles as their photographer in their Venice Studio. He produced a series of stunning works of art over the years in a variety of finishing options and subject matter. Whether it be his landscapes, his nudes, his still-lifes or his architectural photographs; all of his artwork, posters and prints share the same thread of superb quality.
