The passion for photography has been with Rita Crane since her childhood. She must have inherited this gene from her father who was a renowned photojournalist who worked for the New York Times and Life Magazine where he worked for more than 30 years as a staff photographer. Rita was interested in both two dimensional and three dimensional arts. That’s why she co-founded a crystal glass sculpture company together with Denali Crystal. This company had clients such as Tibet an Nyingma Meditation Center, Pacific Bell, M.I.T., Toyota, 3M Corporation, and several public and private collectors. Framed Rita Crane art is also in many collections around the world. Rita tried her hand and worked in various media, but was delighted to return to photography that she referred to as her firth love. The artist credits her father for the sensitivity and excitement with which she looks at the world. She’s very keen to detain and this has made her art to be very popular. Rita is able capture the little details that can go unnoticed by many artists. She’s also thankful to her mother who also had passion for and supported the fine arts. Currently, her representatives on the North Coast of Mendocino are Mendocino Art Center, Northcoast Artist Gallery, Gallery of the Senses and Prentice Gallery. She graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and History and traveled extensively through Switzerland, France, Tahiti, Germany, Los Angeles, the American Southwest, New York City, and the Rocky Mountain Front Range.
