Connie Ricca (Born in 1954) grew up in South San Francisco. This San Francisco native holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art from California State University of San Francisco. She specialized in Photography. Before joining the university, she had studied at El Camino High School and at colleges such as Humbolt State University and City College of San Francisco. Her family still maintains a residency in the Castro District in an old Victorian home. She managed to attend one of the first Gay Pride parades. In the 1970s Connie watched Castro transform itself into a world renowned openly gay urban area. In those years she had many friends who loved to be photographed and she did. Some were from the theatre groups the Angels of Light and The Cockettes. In the years 1975 -76, she traveled for nine months through Europe and Morocco. From the years 1980-85, she worked for Pacific Bell where her duty involved repairing pay-phones in San Francisco. Her photography has now gone digital. She has a certain fascination for colorful, unusual and weird street people. She goes to many street fairs with her camera. Connie's images come in different finishing options, including the ready to hang framed Connie Ricca art – very popular with many purchasers. In 1987Connie started collecting vintage Barbie dolls and accessories. She has sold Barbie collectables at various Doll Shows in Sacramento and the Bay Area. She’s an avid Thrift Store/Flea Market junkie. She has so many vintage dolls and outfits that she really doesn’t know how many she has.
