R. Collier-Morales is an award-winning artist from New York City. Some of the awards she’s received include Gold Benjamin Franklin Award, Silver Benjamin Franklin. She received these for her two illustrations WITH LOVE TO EARTH ENDANGERED PEOPLE and WHEN GOD MADE THE TREE. She has also been honored with Artist of the Month in 1993 and in 1997, she has Chosen the Artist of the Year for Frank Schaffer. She’s been an illustrator for about 40 years. She’s also a calligrapher and a designer. She has quite a number of clients including The Wright Group, Arte Publico Press Teacher Created Materials Weekly Reader, Random House Scholastic, MacMillan/McGraw Hill Modern Publishing, Linda Woods Publishing, Compass Point Dawn Publishing, Kaleidoscope-Tern Enterprises Inc., Illumination Arts Intergraphics, Disney Press Doubleday, Ideal Instructional Fair Inchworm Press, FW Fantasy Golden Books, Grace Publications Grosset and Dunlap, Frank Schaffer Free Spirit, and Concordia Press. Collier-Morales is a graduate of both Marywood University and Colorado State University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education and Illustration and a Masters Degree in Studio Arts. She also studied calligraphy in New York City at Parsons New School. She has worked with several organizations and companies including Arvada Jr. High in Arvada, Colorado where she worked as an art teacher, Ray Diffen Costume Design in New York City as an assistant costume designer, and from 1976 to 1983, she worked with E.N.T.E.R. as an Art Instructor. Today, many retailers stock framed R. Collier-Morales art because their demand is high.
