Carolyn Cole graduated with honors from Portland State University. Since her graduation in 1977, she’s been exhibiting her at all over the United States and beyond in places including Portland International Airport, Gruen Galleries, Chicago, Aberson Exhibits, Tulas, Butters Gallery, Portland, Butters Gallery, Portland, SAM Gallery, Seattle Art Museum, Washington County Museum, Mark Gallery, Tulsa, Gallery IMA, Seattle, The William and Joseph Gallery, Santa Fe, Englewood, Gallery KH, Chicago, Aberson Exhibits, among others. The artist finds her footing within the wealthy traditions of abstract work. This makes her to create a solid body of work that transforms into a language of sumptuous textures, intense color, and organic compositions. Carolyn spent a decade as an artist in New York City until 1991 when she decided to settle back into the Northwest where she exhibited extensively. She is represented by art galleries in Santa Fe, Chicago, Carmel and Palm Desert. Her final images instinctually achieved through the painstaking process in which she applies several layers of pigment, and this also results in her textured surfaces. Her paintings are included in many public and private collections including American Express, TRW Corporation former Presidential Chief of Staff John Podesta, president of Crate & Barrel, Zale Corporation, Disney Productions, Kaiser Permanente, Gordon Seigel, former Vice President Al Gore, IBM Corporation, Salton, Inc., RNM Properties, , the Heinz Corporation and Campbell Soup Company.
